New Orleans police have made an arrest in connection with the killing of a man in Bayou St. John on Saturday morning.
The New Orleans Police Department said that detectives identified Enrique Garcia, 26, as the suspect and arrested him in the Third District. He was taken into custody and booked on a count of second-degree murder.
Police responded to a shooting in the 3200 block of Dumaine Street at around 7:55 a.m. The victim, who went to the hospital after being shot, had been declared dead by 8:55 a.m., police said.
The coroner will release the man's identification pending notification of relatives. No other information was immediately available.
The NOPD did not say what evidence connected Garcia to the shooting.
