BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - A Bedford firefighter was hospitalized after fighting a garage fire Friday, September 26, according to Bedford Fire Department.
Bedford Fire Department responded at 4:45 p.m. to reports of a garage fire on the 2700 block of Lazenbury Road, where fire was coming from the side of the building.
Firefighters say the bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down, but fire that was fed by a gas leak took approximately 30 minutes to fully extinguish with foam.
The injured firefighter was transported to a hospital with burns.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Bedford County Fire Marshal’s Office.
