GENESEE COUNTY, MI – Police are expected to release more details regarding a shooting at a church that left multiple victims.

Grand Blanc Township police will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. at police headquarters.

An active shooter was reported Sunday, Sept. 28, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4285 McCandlish Road, in Grand Blanc. Multiple victims were reported, but police have not released an exact number.

Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said the shooter is down and “the entire church is on fire.”

Police said the scene is no longer a threat, however, residents are asked to avoid the area.

MLive journalists witnessed the Michigan State Police bomb squad arriving on the scene.
