Around nine millions pensioners will soon receive bonus payments to help with the cost of living.

But retirees will receive different amounts depending how old they are.

Details of the Winter Fuel Payment scheme for 2025/26 have been confirmed and money will start entering bank accounts from November.

The support has been extended to millions more pensioners this winter following a backlash over cuts last year.

Now everyone with incomes below £35,000 will receive the boost to help cover energy bills over the colder months.

Those under the age of 80 will receive £200 while those over 80 will get £300.
