Drivers are being urged to make a crucial car change to avoid headlight glare or risk £5,000 fines in October . The Autumn Equinox took place on Monday, September 22, meaning drivers face darker nights as we approach Christmas .

Data from the RAC has shown that millions of motorists struggle to deal with the impact of headlights in the winter months, with elderly drivers "disproportionately affected".
