TANEY COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) -Five fire stations responded to a house fire near Branson Friday night.

According to the Western Taney County Fire Protection District, crews were dispatched just before 8:30 p.m. to a home on Northwood Trail off of Highway T.

The protection district said that when the first crew arrived, fire was showing through the roof and back window of the house. Despite efforts to put the fire out, it then spread to the attic, prompting crews to request more help.

Two residents had smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital. Another resident, who wasn’t at home when the fire started, was taken to the hospital with chest pain. The fire was out by 11:30 p.m., according to crews.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
