GRAND BLANC TWP., MI – Members of the Michigan State Police bomb squad have arrived at the scene of the Michigan church where several people have reportedly been shot.

An active shooter was reported at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4285 McCandlish Road, in Grand Blanc, Sunday, Sept. 28.

Police say there are multiple victims, though an exact figure has yet to be released.

The gunman who opened fire is “down” and the entire building is on fire, according to the Genesee County Sheriff.

The MSP bomb squad arrived shortly after 12:30 p.m.

The sheriff had previously said the scene was no longer a threat to the public, but urged people to avoid the area and continued to evacuate civilians from the area.
