Michigan didn't play in Week 5 but dropped in this week's Associated Press college football poll.

The Wolverines (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) fell one spot to No. 20 in the poll, released Sunday. They return to action Saturday with a noon home game against Wisconsin (2-2, 0-1) on Fox.

Michigan State (3-1, 0-1) was also idle in Week 5 and plays at Nebraska (3-1, 0-1) on Saturday at 4 p.m. on FS1.

Oregon moved up to No. 2, Mississippi earned its highest ranking since 2015, Alabama jumped back into the top 10 and Virginia was in the Top 25 for the first time in six years in the wake of a volatile weekend in which four top-10 teams lost.

Ohio State won at Washington and remains No. 1 for the fifth straight week.
