UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Despite the cheers of over 110,000 fans in attendance for No. 3 Penn State’s White Out game against No. 6 Oregon, the Nittany Lions lost 30-24 and crumbled under pressure behind a late-game interception by Drew Allar.

The Nittany Lions under coach James Franklin have notoriously come up short when the lights are brightest — 4-21 against top-10 teams and 1-18 against top-10 Big Ten teams — so much so that Franklin acknowledged it’s more than just a “narrative” being painted.
