Ozark Gateway Audubon Society, the local chapter of the National Audubon Society, is marking its 50-year anniversary with a milestone event at George Washington Carver National Monument this month.

The event, which runs from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the monument, 5646 Carver Road near Diamond, will feature birdwatching tours, educational presentations, guest speakers and interactive activities for all ages. It is open to the community. Tickets are $28.52 total on Event Brite ( https://tinyurl.com/y7ku3wp7 ), and the registration deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2. ×
