An elderly woman was hospitalized Sunday after suffering an unspecified injury in a fire involving an electric bicycle/scooter at a downtown Los Angeles high-rise, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:47 a.m. Sunday to 451 S. Main St., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The fire in a unit on the third floor of the 12-story structure was held in check by sprinklers and fully extinguished by first arriving firefighters in less than 20 minutes, the department added.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
