RICHMOND, Ind — Police in Richmond are investigating after a man was found shot early Saturday morning.

According to a release from the Richmond Police Department , around 2:58 a.m. on Sept. 7, dispatchers received a call about a person having difficulty breathing in the 800 block of North 19th Street .

Firefighters arrived at the scene and discovered the victim, identified as an adult male, had been shot in the chest. Medics then called police to the scene.

The victim was taken to Reid Health Hospital for treatment before being transferred to Miami Valley Hospital. Police say they do not have any information on the victim's condition.
