AUSTIN (KXAN) — The tropics in the Atlantic Basin have been a complex forecast these last few days as Imelda formed Sunday morning.

Hurricane Humberto strengthened to a Category 5 Hurricane earlier this weekend and is forecast to continue to remain a Major Hurricane through Tuesday morning.

Tropical Storm Imelda (as of 2:30 p.m. Sunday) had sustained winds at 40 mph, moving north at 7 mph.

As Imelda continues to move north in the next few days, steering from Hurricane Humberto will essentially "pull" Imelda offshore of the Southeast U.S. East Coast, limiting significant wind impacts.
