HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - The ʻIkuwā Festival returns to Hilo on Sunday to celebrate the land, sea and sky.
The free, family-friendly event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the ʻImiloa Astronomy Center.
The annual festival honors ʻIkuwā, marking Hawaii’s transition into the wet season with rough seas and thunderous weather.
Visitors are welcome to join in cultural games, planetarium talks, hands-on navigation demos, and more activities that explore traditional Hawaiian knowledge in modern stewardship.
