The Saints nearly grabbed the lead in Buffalo on one of Week 4’s wildest plays. A replay reversal changed the score and the momentum.

On third-and-13 from the Bills ’ 17-yard line, quarterback Spencer Rattler fired behind wide receiver Brandin Cooks in the end zone. Cooks twisted mid-air, tipping the ball with his left hand and trapping it against his left foot as he fell backward. For a moment, it appeared he had secured it with his knees and hands as he hit the turf.

The initial ruling on the field was a Saints touchdown. All touchdowns are automatically reviewed by the league and there has to be indisputable evidence to overturn the score.

Both sidelines reacted like they’d won the play as the replay was shown on the video board at Highmark Stadium.
