LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Grand Blanc Community Schools (GBCS) will be closed on Monday, Sept. 29, following a shooting and fire at a Mormon church.

GBCS announced the closure in a Facebook post.

The Grand Blanc Township Police Department confirmed that two victims and the suspect are dead, and 8 people are injured after the shooting on Sunday.

Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye reports that the suspect, a 40-year-old man from Burton, Michigan, drove his vehicle through the front door of the church and opened fire on those inside the building.

Police believe that the suspect "deliberately" set the church on fire and expect to find additional victims inside.
