AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell says senior defensive back Jeremiah Cooper will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Campbell told reporters after Saturday’s 39-14 win over Iowa State. Cooper did not play in the game.

Campbell says Cooper will have surgery on Monday. He’ll have one more year of eligibility.

In four games this season, Cooper had nine tackles, two for a loss, and one interception.

“The silver lining is the fact that (he’s) got another year of eligibility,” said Campbell. “Who Jeremiah Cooper is, is way bigger than this injury and he’ll come back better.”

Cooper was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection in 2024, a first team selection in 2023.
