A new documentary has reignited interest in the disappearance of teenager Jay Slater , who went missing in Tenerife last summer.

The 19-year-old, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, was reported missing on June 17, 2024, after attending a musical festival on the Spanish island.

Nearly a month later, on July 15, human remains were discovered near the mountain village of Masca, close to the last location recorded on his mobile phone. The following day, it was formally identified as Jay Slater.

An inquest into his death, held at Preston Coroner's Court earlier this year, concluded that Jay died in an "accidental death" on June 17, 2024 in the Juan Lopez ravine in a remote area of Tenerife, with traumatic head injuries caused by a fall in mountainous terrain.
