A man died after being stabbed at Dawson Park in Northeast Portland’s Eliot neighborhood on Sunday, police said.
Officers arrived at the park in the 2900 block of North Williams Avenue about 1:15 p.m. after reports of a stabbing and a shot fired, the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement. Witnesses took the victim to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, where he died.
Officers detained a suspect at the scene, and homicide detectives are investigating. North Williams Avenue, between Northeast Stanton and Morris streets, and Dawson Park are closed while police investigate.
Police have not released the name of the victim or the suspect.
