WATERBURY, Conn. — The city of Waterbury said the water supply will be temporarily shut off late Monday as crews continue a critical repair of a water main break from last Tuesday .

The water supply will be shut off in the late afternoon, after peak demand, to reduce pressure on the pipe while the repair is made, said Jennifer Rose, press secretary for the office of Mayor Paul Pernerewski, Jr., Sunday.

Some residents may see reduced water pressure or a temporary loss of service while the supply is shut off, Rose said.

Waterbury Public Schools will remain open Monday and will not be affected by the repair work or the temporary shutdown of the water supply.
