A selected group of players will get to play its final high school games following the state finals.
On Sunday, three Midlands defensive players were picked to compete at the Dec. 20 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas game. It will take place at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 at Spartanburg High School.
Defensive end Julian Walker and linebacker Raleigh Salters of 3-time defending Class 5A champion Dutch Fork and defensive back Jordyn Best made the Sandlappers. All three were inactive last week as the Silver Foxes had a bye and Best nursed an injury.
A week earlier, the Touchstone Energy Bowl is scheduled for noon at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach.
