LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police say that detectives seized a pound of pure fentanyl in addition to several other drugs and firearms on Friday.
In a Facebook post , LMPD announced that detectives executed a search warrant in the 5000 block of Yew Lane at around 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The search led to the seizure of two unlawfully possessed firearms, 5.26 ounces of cocaine, eight ounces of marijuana, and a pound of pure fentanyl, which is enough to kill around 225,000 people.
"This operation removed a massive amount of poison from our community and significantly disrupted a dangerous drug network, improving the safety and quality of life for residents in the area," LMPD said in its post.
This investigation remains on
