PEORIA, Ariz. — One person is dead following a crash in the West Valley, authorities said.

Peoria police officers and Peoria Fire-Medical responded to the scene of a motorcycle crash near Old Carefree Highway and Waddell Canal on Sunday afternoon.

Police said one man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.

The crash involved two motorcycles, each with two passengers. Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and one is being treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Police said impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.

Old Carefree Highway is closed in both directions, just west of Lake Pleasant Parkway.

No other information was given.
