LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Lubbock Police Department released an update on the overnight shooting that occurred in Southwest Lubbock.

According to LPD, officers originally responded to the reports of a loud party in the 5500 block of 76th Street around midnight. They received another call at 12:44 a.m. with reports of shots fired at the scene. When LPD officers arrived at the scene again, they located one person with a gunshot wound. They were transported to University Medical Center by ambulance, where they would later be pronounced deceased. The victim has now been identified as 20-year-old Deon Lilly.

Additionally, 18-year-old Adysen Gardner was checked into UMC with a gunshot wound after arriving to the hospital in a private vehicle. Another unnamed minor was treated for lacerations to th
