Millions of pensioners are due to receive an important letter from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) that will determine their financial support this winter.
Approximately nine million pensioners could receive up to £300 through the Winter Fuel Payment, a scheme designed to provide additional financial assistance during the colder months. Despite initial plans to cut the scheme, a government U-turn has ensured many remain eligible.
Those born before September 22, 1959, can expect to receive between £100 and £300 to help with the increased cost of heating throughout the colder period. Meanwhile, people aged between 66 and 79 could get as much as £200, while those aged 80 and over could receive the full £300.
