A stowaway was discovered dead inside the landing gear compartment of a North Carolina-bound American Airlines flight, according to authorities.

The unidentified body was found in the main landing gear compartment of the American Airlines plane that had recently arrived from Europe around 9 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police .
