OZARK, Mo. (KY3) -An Ozark man faces murder charges after allegedly killing a woman with a gardening tool.

According to court documents, Derrick Alling is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Alling had been making threats to the female victim that he would harm her, and is alleged to be the beneficiary of the victim’s trust. He had been demanding his inheritance from her, court records state.

The probable cause statement states that Alling allegedly hit the victim repeatedly in the head and face with a gardening or scraping tool.

Alling is being held without bond.
