LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Smoketown came alive to celebrate democracy and community Sunday afternoon.
We the People Palooza kicked off at 1 p.m. at Trellis Brewing, offering a space for community members to connect and learn more about civic engagement.
Hosted by the Freedom of Speech & Press Action Circle, the event sported a number of live performances, inspirational speakers, local brews, and a multitude of food trucks and vendors.
There were also a number of Action Circles with informational and educational resources regarding the First Amendment, immigration, healthcare, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, voting rights, and environmental change.
The event was more than just a rally; leaders of the event sought to bring together people from all backgrounds to create a community full of peace,
