GUILFORD, Vermont – A 19-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, woman was seriously injured when she crashed her car into a tree Sunday afternoon.

The woman was driving north on Interstate 91 when she lost control of her car shortly after crossing into Vermont. She struck a tree head-on in the crash, which took place at about 3:05 p.m., Vermont State Police said.

She was taken to Brattleboro Memorial Medical Center by ambulance and was being treated for serious injuries.
