CALLS for road repairs are on the rise across most of the region, with reports to councils regarding potholes and surface damage increasing.

Following the recent rainfall and minor flooding across parts of the Central West, both Bathurst and Orange councils confirmed they had received an increase in reports of road damage.

With Orange noting the complaints had doubled when compared to the dry spell earlier in the year.

And while Dubbo didn't receive the same significant rainfall in early September , its regional council has still received 833 requests to its urban and rural roads department since January this year.

Between them, Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo councils are responsible for maintaining a total of more than 3000 kilometres of road.
