Orange City Council has changed its tune regarding a proposed solar farm in the town's south.
During an ordinary meeting on September 16, council determined it would acknowledge that the application for a 13 hectare solar farm at 140 Cadia Road "meets the criteria while also outlining council's concerns" in a letter to the Western Region Planning Panel who ultimately decide the project's future.
However, shortly after the meeting concluded, a rescission notice was lodged by councillors Kevin Duffy, Tammy Greenhalgh and Graeme Judge which saw the topic discussed again on September 29, one day prior to the WRPP making its decision.
The extraordinary meeting lasted two hours and saw five members of the public speak against the solar farm.
