A lawsuit between a local investment advisory firm and a group of its former employees is set to pick up where it left off after a year-long detour in federal appeals court.

Henrico-based Salomon & Ludwin is once again battling in U.S. District Court against Jeremiah Winters, Catherine Atwood, Jennifer Thompson and Abbey Sorensen, who abruptly left the firm in May 2024 to start their own competing company, Founders Grove Wealth Partners.

That exodus sparked a fight over whether the Founders Grove foursome wrongfully solicited Salomon & Ludwin clients upon striking out on their own.

The two sides are also split over whether non-solicitation clauses in the employment contracts the Founders Grove group signed while at S&L supersede the so-called “Broker
