Amid growing enrollment, Randolph-Macon College has finished construction on its first new dorm in about a decade.

College officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week for Spotswood Village, a 64-bed, four-building residential complex for upperclassmen.

RMC called the $12 million complex an anchor for the west side of its campus, and the project included such infrastructure improvements as a new private road called Lindgren Lane, a parking lot and a new sidewalk. The complex was built on 2 acres next to the college business office at 310 N. Center St. in Ashland.
