TRIBUTES have poured in for the young Spanish trapeze artist who died during a circus act in front of aghast families with children.

Marina B, 27, was pulling off a daring trapeze stunt in a big top in Bautzen, east Germany , when she plummeted to the floor.

The Spanish acrobat fell five metres from a trapeze swing during a solo performance at around 5:45pm on Saturday evening.

She died from her injuries on the spot as police and emergency services rushed to the scene.

Almost 100 people were watching the Paul Busch Circus show - including families with children.

Emotional tributes for the star have begun pouring in.

One circus employee told Bild: "We can't believe what's happened"

While fans remembered Marina for her "contagious enthusiasm" and "lovely smile".
