A northern Tasmanian man has been found guilty of murder and two other men have been found guilty of manslaughter following a trial in northern Tasmania.

Luke Anthony Shaw, Paul William Shaw and Patrick Kenneth Dolbey were charged with the murder of David Wayne Jenkins, who was stabbed 11 times in George Town on October 22, 2022.

All three had pleaded not guilty.

After hearing from almost 50 witnesses in the Supreme Court in Launceston over 12 days, the jury deliberated briefly on Thursday, for around six hours on Friday, and for almost five hours on Monday before returning their verdict.

They unanimously found Luke Shaw guilty of murder and Paul Shaw guilty of manslaughter.
