A beachside display in Tel Aviv on Monday, positioned in front of the US Embassy, featured portraits of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with an elongated nose.

Beneath the images, a caption read “Don’t be fooled again”.

The display was organized by activists from Brothers and Sisters in Arms, alongside other activists for the families of the hostages.

Activists and families of hostages continue to advocate and protest, calling for an end to the war in Gaza and a deal to secure the hostages’ release.

Days after using a UN address to reject international demands for an end to the war in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will sit down with President Donald Trump, his supporter.

But Monday’s scheduled meeting in Washington comes at a tenuous moment.

Israel is increasingly isolated after losing support from many countries that were long its steadfast allies.

At home, Netanyahu’s governing coalition appears more fragile than ever and the White House is showing signs of impatience.

The question now is whether Trump will step up pressure on Israel to wind down the long conflict.
