Three candidates, including the incumbent, are running for mayor of Wilmington.

Jonathan Barfield Jr., Billy Craig and Bill Saffo are running for mayor. The mayor serves a two-year term. In 2024, the mayor earned a salary of $26,486.04. The city has not released updated salary information following multiple StarNews requests via phone, email and the public records system.

Early voting at the Northeast Regional Library begins on Oct. 16. Early voting at satellite sites at the McLeod Building at Cape Fear Community College, Senior Resource Center and Carolina Beach Town Hall will begin operations on Oct. 25. The final day of early voting is Nov. 1.

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 10. Election Day is Nov. 4.
