Scotland has been hit with a three-day yellow weather warning for rain, with a whopping 10 inches of the wet stuff expected to batter large parts of the country. ‌

The Met Office has issued the alert, which stretches from Argyll and Bute all the way up to the Highlands , for the first three days of October. As much as 200-250mm (eight to 10 inches) of rain is set to accumulate on land, namely over mountains. ‌

The official warning is in place from Wednesday, October 1 at 5pm until 6am on Friday, October 3. Meanwhile, from Tuesday, September 30 until Thursday, October 2, downpours are also set to thrash western Scotland . ‌

The national weather agency cautioned fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, "causing a danger to life".
