The Mets shake-up will soon be underway, and five familiar names won’t be back next season — a mix of veterans and key contributors whose exits signal just how much change is coming in Queens.

Two of the biggest names, still under contract, that could test free agency are first baseman Pete Alonso and closer Edwin Díaz.

After Sunday’s heartbreaking 4-0 loss to the Miami Marlins, Alonso didn’t hesitate when asked if he plans to opt out of his two-year, $54 million contract.

“Nothing is guaranteed, but we’ll see what happens - I’ve loved being a Met,” Alonso told reporters after the game. “Hopefully, they’ve appreciated me the same.”
