ST. LOUIS - Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837 will return to the bargaining table on Monday, with a federal mediator present, as the strike enters its ninth week.
The strike, involving 3,200 IAM 837 members, began on August 4 after union members rejected two contract offers from Boeing. The union has been demanding better overall benefits and higher pay, feeling disrespected by the company's proposals.
IAM 837 leaders stated on Friday that both the union and Boeing have agreed to resume negotiations with the assistance of a federal mediator.
