PAGELAND, S.C. —

A 9-year-old was fatally shot outside a convenience store in Pageland, South Carolina, on Sunday, according to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office.

This happened along Highway 9.

Authorities said seven juveniles and four adults have been taken into custody and/or arrested in connection to the deadly shooting.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting with the case.

“This case has deeply impacted our community," Sheriff Cambo Streater said. "Our investigators have worked tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice. We remain committed to ensuring that every individual connected to this senseless act is held accountable.”

Authorities said once charges are finalized more information will be released.
