GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Tropical Storm Imelda continues to bring impacts to portions of the Bahamas, trends still take it away from the U.S. It will gradually strengthen from the Bahamas through Monday, expected to become a Category 1 hurricane Tuesday. The storm taking an abrupt turn east-northeast.

The latest trend in the data is a positive one, continuing taking the storm out to sea Tuesday. What we are seeing is the system staying south of South Carolina Tuesday and then taking a turn east and heading out to sea without making landfall in the US. This would keep the worst of the storm off-shore.

Humberto is a dangerous category 4 hurricane. It is expected to gradually turn north, Humberto expected to turn sharply moving east-northeast Tuesday night and Wednesday.
