AKRON, Ohio — Gas prices have gone down in Northeast Ohio, dropping 21.7 cents in Akron and 16.4 cents in Cleveland within the last week.

New data released by GasBuddy early Monday shows the average in Akron is now listed at $2.78 per gallon, while drivers in Cleveland are paying an average of $2.90.

This drop puts Cleveland’s gas prices at 38.1 cents cheaper than a month ago and 28.6 cents lower than a year ago.

The national average, meanwhile, now stands at $3.08 after dropping 5.8 cents. That’s down 11.1 cents from a month ago and 9 cents when compared to a year ago.
