Uttarkashi police launched a special verification drive across the district to monitor suspicious individuals. Under the direction of Uttarkashi superintendent of police Sarita Dobal, completed verification forms for 99 individuals, including tenants, labourers, street vendors and hawkers, had been sent for investigation. During the campaign, police have taken action against five landlords who had not get their tenants verified. The landlords have been warned against renting sans verification.
