PORT ANGELES – Friday night at Civic Field, after another long night of yellow flags, the Port Angeles Roughriders used their Homecoming energy and a “we’re better than you” edge to muscle past the Sequim Wolves 27-14.
The Riders, now 2-2, flexed their interior line and leaned on senior running back Dylan Mann, who pounded out 155 yards and all four Port Angeles touchdowns. Junior quarterback Carson Waddell was sharp, hitting 11 of 17 passes for 166 yards, with two more throws dropped that could have been scores.
The Riders were so effective running the ball and the clock that the Wolves’ offense spent much of the game on the sidelines. On defense, Port Angeles limited Wolves running backs Zeke Schmadeke and Liam Wiker to just 77 yards on 14 carries.
