WASHINGTON — Country music icon Dolly Parton announced Sunday that she is postponing her upcoming Las Vegas concerts while she undergoes medical procedures her doctors have recommended.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton said in a statement posted to her Instagram . “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”
Parton, 79, lightheartedly compared the situation to getting a “100,000-mile check-up,” but stressed that the decision was made so she could perform at her best for audiences.
