INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WPTA) - Indiana Governor Mike Braun says he will not stop the execution of Roy Ward.
Ward, who was convicted of raping and murdering 15-year-old Stacy Payne back in 2001, is set to receive a lethal injection on October 10th.
Last week, the State Parole Board declined to grant Ward clemency, and on Monday morning, Governor Braun announced that he will follow the parole board’s unanimous recommendation and will allow Ward to be executed.
Ward’s execution is set to be the third since last December.
