Peter Kay has postponed two comedy shows to give himself time to "rest and recover" from a kidney stone procedure. The 52-year-old comedian was scheduled to perform his Better Late Than Never stand-up comedy show at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 5 and Monday 6 October. However, a spokesperson for tour promoter SJM Concerts announced on Monday that the Car Share star needed to postpone the performances to recover from the routine operation. "We regret to inform you that due to a routine kidney stone procedure, Peter will be unable to perform his scheduled shows at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 5th October and Monday 6th October. Following medical advice, Peter will be taking a period of time to rest and recover," reads the statement, which was shared on Kay's social media accounts. They informed fans that the October shows will now take place on 11 and 12 December, and their tickets would be valid for the rescheduled dates. "We thank you for your patience and understanding," they concluded. The Phoenix Nights star returned to live stand-up comedy after a 12-year break in November 2022, and his Better Late Than Never tour is currently in its third year. After his recovery, Kay will head back out on the road, performing in cities such as Glasgow, Sheffield, Liverpool and Leeds throughout late October and November.
