UK households are being urged to make one major change that could save them £215 a year on their energy bills ahead of a major energy announcement this week.

Around 22 million Brits on standard variable tariffs must switch their deals today, September 29 to try and beat Ofgem ’s 2% price cap rise on Wednesday, an expert has warned.

It comes after Ofgem announced that gas and electricity prices are set to go up for millions of people this autumn. The energy price cap will rise by two percent from October 1 for a typical household in England, Scotland and Wales, the industry regulator has said.
