HOULTON -- The town manager of Houlton was arrested Thursday on domestic violence-related charges.

According to the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, Cameron Clark, 27, of New Limerick, was arrested without incident on charges of domestic violence assault and tampering with a witness.

Authorities say the alleged domestic violence incident happened ten days before Clark's arrest.

Clark was appointed town manager earlier this year. According to the Bangor Daily News, the Houlton town council chair reportedly said Clark will keep his role as his case makes its way through court.

The sheriff's office says he was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
